“I have always wanted to show that beauty is not in a size ,” explains the woman who became the first curvy model –we’ll talk about the labels later– for Victoria’s Secret and who now, at the top of the international stage, acts as a friend of the Gaultier Divine perfume brand , whose bottle could well be the representation of Lorena herself, a goddess of sensual curves, luminous skin, free and without ties .
Personality, strength, and power are nouns that perfectly define the trajectory of this feature's new muse, determined to prove that fashion isn't synonymous with thinness throughout a life journey as triumphant as it is winding. But who wants a straight path when you can enjoy some good curves?
Did it take that girl from Los Palacios long to adapt to a city like Barcelona or New York? At first, everything seemed so big; I was even afraid to go out on the street. Luckily, I adapt to everything very quickly . I have that Andalusian temperament that makes me talk to everyone and make friends. The worst time was in London. They dropped me there when I was 19, and I had to fend for myself with basic school English. They'd give you sheets of paper with the casting addresses written on them, and you were off on your own to find clients. I remember asking people where I had to go, and they wouldn't even answer me. I cried at every bus stop.
A situation like that must build character… It made me strong, yes. I knew I had to snap out of it, that I couldn't be crying in every corner because people wouldn't even say good morning to me. I didn't want to change who I am either, but those things make you more of a fighter . I handled it pretty well, like any job requires an adjustment period.
